This week, some of our residents enjoyed the Spring sunshine and explored The Saints Trail, which follows the route of the old branch line railway. Staff accompanied them all the way from Perranporth to Goonhavern. A glorious day out for everyone involved.
Despite the beachside location, our gardens always look beautiful. We are lucky to have such well tended outside spaces here at Perran Bay with gardeners who work their magic on our shrubs, hanging baskets and borders.
Today we took part in the Perranzabuloe Improvements Committee Easter Duck Hunt. Participants had a sheet of clues to help them find the shops or businesses with hidden ducks. It certainly proved extremely popular and we had plenty of young sleuths on the hunt for the duck hiding at Perran Bay Reception.
We’re delighted to share that two, yes TWO, members of our staff are winners in the 2024 Proud to Care Awards for Cornwall. Charley is Care Home Worker of the Year and Ellie, who looks after our wonderful gardens, was the winner in the Hidden Treasure category. We couldn’t be prouder.
Halloween fun and knitting hats for premature babies. We had a stall at the local Christmas Fete selling goodies made by our residents.
Sunday August 7th saw Perran Bay summer Fete on the Inner Green, we had so many helpers, including the residents who had prepared things for sale, a really beautiful and busy afternoon,not everyone missed the facepainting. Glorious Sunshine for our day out. Some of our staff and residents enjoyed a trip to Stithians Show this week and had a wonderful time watching equestrian events, learning about preparation for a dog show and sampling local produce.
