A volunteer board of local people operate as the executive for policy, and the care home’s Manager is responsible for compliance with the CQC and the well being of the residents.
The Care Manager has an Assistant Manager and 2 Senior Team Leaders. In addition there are 5 Team Leaders who guide their own teams of care staff, one of whom undertakes the role of Activities Co-ordinator. There are personnel available for the day to day upkeep and maintenance of the premises, the Chef and Housekeeper also have their own teams and one of the domestic staff undertakes looking after the gardens!
Linda Whitford, the Care Manager has 29 years of Elder Care Home experience behind her, with RMA Level 4, Health & Social Care Level 4 and has been the Care Manager at Perran Bay since 2005. Diane the Assistant Manager is a Registered Nurse with 37 years of experience in all aspects of nursing. The 2 well qualified Senior Staff guide their own teams for the well being and comfort of the residents. All care and domestic staff continually keep up to date with training, including the current health and safety requirements. Perran Bay has a high ratio of staff to residents.
In addition to the permanent staff, arrangements are made with other professional people who are hired to entertain the residents for the various activities that are regularly organised.
